Petani is a magnificent beach located in a distance of 20 km west of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia in the beautiful peninsula of Pelliki. It consists of blue crystal waters and a stunning landscape of huge verdant cliffs that reach the blue sea. The water deepens right away and there are usually big waves in Petani. The beach is covered mostly with sand and some pebbles scattered along the shore. Close to the beach are a couple of taverns that will draw your attention. The beach is partly organized with umbrellas and sundecks. There is also a shower and toilet facilities some steps from the beach. There is parking space for a few cars only. In close distance are some beautiful villages and monasteries worth visiting.
A small harbor is located N of harbor Lixouríou, with a width of about 100 m. The small harbor is protected from waves caused by winds from between S and NE by a breakwater of natural boulders, 340 m in length, and by a curved windward breakwater, 200 m in length, which extends NE.
Vatsa is actually the beach everyone is looking for but very few are able to find! This is a sort of a local legend. It's an untouched, almost primitive landscape, mostly accessible by sea, while lunch in the only local tavern -owned by a somewhat peculiar man- will certainly be the highlight of your vacations.
Megas Lakos, this delightful beach is located 35 km from Argostoli, the lovely town of Kefalonia. The beach is noticeably different and distinguishes for its red soft sand and the shallow waters that make a unique combination for the summer holidays.
