Fiskardo Harbor
Exploring Kefalonia Sailing Holidays area
Fiskardo is the most picturesque town on the island which survived the catastrophic earthquake in 1953. Its harbor is small, charming and well sheltered at the northwest end of Kefalonia and almost always crowded, especially during the peak months of July and August. Even arriving as early as midday, it is more than likely your only option will be to anchor on the north side of the harbor with lines ashore.
Shelter in the harbor is excellent in the prevailing north-west winds but becomes uncomfortable in strong south winds. A good walk is starting from the north end of the harbor through the small forest to the old Venetian lighthouse. Closely to the path are the ruins of a Norman church.
