Ancient theaters are the places where Greek tragedies are taking place since the 4th century BC. Most of them are now preserved as monuments because of their remarkable architecture. Some ancient theaters still host theatrical performances, as The Ancient theatre of Epidaurus in Argolis.

Theater of Delphi is at the northwest side of Apollonas temple. The theater has 35 rows of the theater, seating almost 5000 people, though the lower seats were constructed in the Hellenistic and Roman periods.
Theater of Eretria, one of the oldest Greek theatres, is located inside the West Gate, in the north-west of the city and near the Temple of Dionysos. It was built between 400-500 BC and it has an estimated capacity of 3600.
The theater of Dionysus Eleuthereus is an open theater and one of the oldest in Athens. The structure dates back to the 4th century BC but had many other later renovations since then.
Odeon of Herodes Atticus, known as Herodeon, was built in 161 AC and had a capacity of 5.000 people.
The ancient theater of Larissa was constructed inside the ancient city`s center at the end of the 3rd century BC. During the first centuries, the theatre had a dual use: apart from theatrical performances, it also hosted the assemblies of the senior regional authority, the so-called Koinon of the Thessalians.
