Sailing Tip
The small port is protected by two breakwaters that consist of a slope of masonry. The west, curved breakwater (which is approximately 300 m long) extends initially to the northeast for approximately 180 m. It then turns to the northeast for approximately 90 m and then turns to the southeast for 30 m. The east breakwater is approximately 115 m long and extends to the north.

Navigational Aids
Kamiros is the highest mountain of Rhodes. Visitors can explore the ancient city of Kamiros that has not been overlaid by the modern town.
The beach of Soroni is situated at the western coast of the island, at a distance of some 25 kilometers southwestern to the town of Rhodes. It is a pebbly beach and the sea is usually wavy and deepens brusquely.
The tiny beach beside the small scenic port of Fanes is situated some 22 kilometers southwestern to the town of Rhodes, at the western coast of the island. Accommodation facilities are available at the nearby tourist resorts of the northwestern coast.
Kalavarda is a beautiful sandy beach on the west coast of the island. The sea is usually slightly wavie and colder than east coast but the crystal clear waters make it an attractive beach to spend a day on the sun improving your tan.
