It is one of the two islets South of Astypalaia. Its beaches are fantastic - you can reach them with the little excursion boats that depart daily from the port of Pera Gialos.
Navigational Aids
The bay of Maltezana provides good shelter for N to SW winds but it is somewhat exposed to the SE. There is a small quay and you may, if there is room, be able to moor at its edge.
Skala or Perigialos is a safe harbor but subject to violent gusts in a strong meltemi (the Etesians). A new breakwater extension provides secure berthing for around 6-8 yachts med moored to the quay.
Kaminakia beach located in the southwest side of the island. Sandy with shallow and crystal clear waters.
It is situated in the SW side of Astypalaia, just a few km southern of Kaminakia beach. On the beach you will find a few sun beds and umbrellas as well as a cantine.
Steno, as the local townspeople refer to it, divides Astypalaia into the eastern part known as the "Inner Island" and the western part known as the "Outer Island". The concrete road towards the "Inner Island" stretches past the successive beaches "Marmaria", "Steno", "Plakis" and the "Blue Limanaki" until it reaches Analypsi or Maltezana after a total of 9 Km.
Located inland, in the settlement or Maltezana Ascension, 10 km from the town. Sandy beach with tamarisk trees.
The beach of Agios Konstantinos is located on the southern side of Astypalea. The beach is actually a lovely, long and sandy cove with sparkling blue waters.
