South west of Chora, Mylopotas beach, the busiest beach of Ios, can get really crowded during summer. The long sandy beach extends for one kilometre and offers sun beds, umbrellas, beach bars, cafes, restaurants and a great variety of sea sports.
The beach of Agia Theodoti is one of the most quiet ones in Ios and represents the ideal spot for those seeking for some quality, relaxation time away from the crowds. You can swim in the crystal clear waters and enjoy the sun in the golden sand or have an amazing meal in one of the traditional taverns of the area.
Koumpara is a frequented beach with golden sand and white pebbles, located 3km northwest of the port. The beautiful bay requires a 30-minute walking from Ormos port and it can also be reached by bus.
The beach of Klima is reachable only through the sea. It is located opposite Prasonisi, right after the beach of Mylopota.
Small quiet beach, behind the beach Koumbara, in the bay of the harbor. For those who love reading, it is an ideal place to enjoy a good book.
Port Ios or Yialos is the only port on the island. It provides excellent shelter from the meltemi (the Etesians) (the Etesians) but during the peak holiday period it is so noisy with l disco music and loud beer parties, that it is impossible to sleep.
Ios is known for the vivid nightlife, the heart of clubbing in whole Cyclades, as many said. It is famous for its wild and crazy nightlife since the 1980s when hippies first came to these wonderful Cycladic island.
