Gialia and Piso Gialia are the most beautiful beaches close to Chora, Andros island capital. Gialia is the longest beach with pebbles; Piso Gialia is smaller and it is a sandy beach.
Close to the town of Andros, to the north, is located an organized sandy beach, ideal for families, with taverns, cafes and shops. The bay here used to be the old port of the island and it still serves as a harbour for fishermen boats and yachts.
Grias to Pidima beach, meaning the place where the old lady jumped in Greek, is located on the southeast coast of Andros, north from Ormos Kotrhiou, after the port of Vitzi. There is a path leading to this beautiful sandy beach with the characteristic rock which gave the name to the spot.
In the SE coast of the island in Korthi. From Korthi Bay take the road to the north and we are just a few minutes to the beach.
At the eastern coast in the Chora area, next to Syneti village is located this beach. We find it if from Chora we follow the central road to Korthi and then turn left to the village and immediately left to the beach.
Paraporti is the south coast of the two beaches, on the sides of the peninsula of Hora. It has a nice and big sandy beach and beautiful surroundings, with a charming river with ducks, the Venetian Castle on the left and the Tourlitis lighthouse a little further away.
Korthi is a very lovely cove. It is exposed to the east and it is not protected from the meltemi and it can be dangerous when it blows.
In a distance of ten minute walk from Apoikia is the Pithara waterfall. There is a smooth path that leads to the beautiful waterfall.
