The industrial museum of Syros is located next to the neoclassical buildings of Ermoupoli, close to the industrial zone. Visitors can see pictures of local painters depicting the island in the 19th century, products of the women’s association from the early 20th century and a digital representation of public and industrial buildings. Among the most interesting exhibits of this museum are the almost 20 well preserved pieces of machinery that were used till some decades ago.
The tiny beach of Fabrika is found at a distance of 9 kilometers southern to Hermoupolis, within the well protected cove at the southeast of Vari. The place has been named after the old industry that operated there during the period of the industrial flourish of the island.
The sandy beach of Delfini (“dolphin” in Greek) is a wonderful beach with a unique exotic atmosphere, situated almost at the middle of the western coast of the island, northern to Kini, from which it is some 2 kilometers far away. The distance from Hermoupolis is some 11 kilometers to the Northwest.
The sandy beach of Santorinioi is found at a distance of 5-6 kilometers southern to Hermoupolis, at the eastern coast of the island, on a deviation from the way from Azolimnos to Vari. Facilities for accommodation and other services are available in the neighboring resorts of Azolimnos or Vari.
The tiny beach of Lotos, in front of the small homonymous settlement southern to Kini, is situated at a distance of 10 kilometers western to Hermoupolis. This sandy and pebbly beach is not organized at all, but is very close to Kini which offers any kind of facilities.
The beach of Kini is extended along the homonymous tourist resort situated at a distance of 9 kilometers western to Hermoupolis. The settlement offers many alternatives for accommodation and other high quality services and a wonderful environment to those who choose the place for swimming or for a longer staying.
