Santorini or Vlychada Marina is a new marina just west of cape Exomitis. The harbour is the only well protected harbour or anchorage of the island. The marina is about a 20 minute drive from Fira (capital of the island) and a 10 minute drive from the Santorini (Thira) International Airport (IATA: JTR).
Vlychada Marina has limited space for yachts, and it is an overnight base for a great number of day cruise catamarans. It provides alongside berthing in secure conditions with water, electricity, WCs and WiFi network included in the mooring fee of €20.
The harbour tends to silt during the winter storms and dredging operations are constantly going on in order to keep the depths of the harbour around 2.5 to 3.0 meters.
