Scenic and quiet beach with thick light sand and little thin pebble. The first beach you encounter is Monastiria which have no shade at all, but with a bit more walking you can reach Soufi with many trees and a calm sea. The road to these beaches is rough so you might consider coming here by sea with a boat ride.
Navigational Aids
Port Vathy is definitely the safest anchorage in Sifnos, if gusty due to the meltemi (the Etesians) (the Etesians). It is a pleasant setting, if somewhat remote from the rest of the island, with a nice sandy beach.
Psáthi is the little harbor of Kimolos. It affords good protection from the meltemi (the Etesians) but is open to the S - SE.
Adamas or Port Milos is the only harbor in Milos. It is near the end of Milos Bay, one of the largest natural harbors in the Mediterranean, which is the volcano`s caldera.
Kamares is the only harbor in Sifnos. While it provides good shelter from the meltemi (the Etesians) (the Etesians), it seems to have a constant swell, this swell is very uncomfortable and at times can be dangerous.
Faros or Pharos is a bay on the SE side of Sifnos which provides good shelter from the meltemi (the Etesians). You can anchor either to the S of Cape Petalos or off the village.
Glaronisia are one of the best climbing fields in Greece. These islands are made of basalt and in the shape of six-sided wands.
Volcanic activity started in Milos 5 million years ago which created these amazing colors and landscapes in Milos. There are areas called geothermal fields which can be used to create energy.
Plaka is the most scenic village of Milos island. At the top of the village there is a castle, which at night, gives visitors an amazing view of the stars.
In the 13th century, the Venetians established their presence by building the Castle of Milos, on the hill, which is called Prophet Elias and is about 280 meters high. The Castle survived but was vandalized from soldiers and pirates during the decades.
Kalamitsi is a traditional restaurant by the sea offering fresh fish. One of their specialties is Kolokithenia, a traditional pie made of zucchini (kolokithi).
At Armenaki restaurant, visitors can taste fresh fish, traditional food and karpouzopita-- the most famous dessert of Milos. Karpouzopita is a pie made of watermelon.
Hliovasilema is a beautiful restaurant that offers the famous honey-pies of Sifnos. This is an Aegean cheesecake prepared with honey and unsalted mizithra or ricotta cheese.
Avanti is located in Pollonia. The café has both outdoor and indoor seating areas offering a view to the Aegean Sea.
Beach Vathy is a lovely picturesque bay lying on the souwestern side of Sifnos. This golden beach streches for more than 1 kilometre and it is arguably one of the most beautiful areas of Sifnos for the crystalline shallow waters and an amazing surrounding of high cliffs.
Deserted beach with fine pebbles and rocks, with strange underwater explorations. There is no any kind of organization, so you should arrange for the necessary (water, sunscreen, umbrella, hat, medicine and food).
At this place Geometric period pottery fragments were discivered and now hosted at the Archaeological Museum Village. On the beach you can go by road.
Dekas is a small beach on the south western side of Kimolos. Clean and relaxing, this is a great beach for couples and loneliners.
Alyki, as the nearby beaches and Kalamitsi Bonatsa is long and relatively calm when the wind 'excite' the Cyclades. Ideal for swimming when winds.
Pigados is a narrow rocky beach on the north eastern side of Kimolos. Its crystal beaches and calm environment attract a lot of visitors.
Right by the old quarries that used to extract limestone lies a long shore of large pebbles and golden sand easily accessible from the main road. Slightly shaded by marram grass and hidden in a natural rock formation jutting into the azure sea, Klima Beach is the perfect spot for enjoying the sun and the summer breeze.
Agios Nikolaos is a nice, relaxing beach on the eastern side of Kimolos. The clean water and calm ambiance attract some loneliness and couples.
Kalamitsi is a beautiful and large beach on Kimolos, quite close to Psathi village. You can enjoy a good swim at this beach as it is mostly a flat bathing beach.
Beautiful beach with white sand from the quarry which is directly above it. But not very popular beach.
Psathi is the port of Kimolos but also the most popular beach on Kimolos. It is a busy, lovely place with local colour.
Mponatsa is a large beach with golden sand and crystal water. It is one of the most famous beaches of the island and becomes quite popular in summer months.

Next to the harbor, a shift is the beach of the stream, a small settlement of wires and a few cottages. The waters are crystal clear and has shade trees.
Beach Vlychada is a small, sandy, secluded beach on the west side of the island. It is totally unorganized and provides the perfect place to enjoy some privacy.
Seralia is a very small, only 30 meters, pebbled beach on the southeast side of the island. Near the beach there are tavernas, cafes, etc.
Klima is a traditional fishing village with colourful houses extending all the way to the small coast. It is located below the village of Trypiti and the Catacombs.
The beach of Lagada lies right next to Adamas and in fact is the natural extension of the harbor. After arriving in Adamas walk to your right and the road will lead you to Lagada, a beautiful beach with trees, well organized and usually not crowded.
Papikinou is a large sandy beach with crystal clear waters and many trees for natural shade. It is also the only beach on the island, which is awarded with a blue flag.
Achivadolimni is the longest beach of the island, and certainly one of the most beautiful. It took its name from the lake behind it, which is full of clams.
Reaching Fikiada is a small but also pleasant adventure! The joy of the sun and the sea on the sandy beach will be your reward! An environment of extreme beauty will accompany your way to Fikiada. Don't forget that you will need some extra time for your return because of the slightly steep ground.
Fasolou is a wonderful sandy beach with good road access is within walking distance to the SE of the lighthouse in a small creek which appears in the Lighthouse Cove. The small picturesque sandy beach Fasolou located next to the Lighthouse Beach on the southeastern coast of the island at a distance of about 7 km south of Apollonia.
The beach of Faros is ideal for young swimmers since its calm waters are not deep. It offers every tourist’s facility needed.

The isolated beach of Saoures lies at the southeastern part of Apollonia just 8klm away. In order to reach the beach, follow the path near ‘Panagia of Chrissopigi’.
Poulati is a rocky beach in the East side of the island, situated in a small distance at the north of Kastro. There is a pathway from Kastro leading to Poulati but the main road is via Artemonas.
Platys Gialos is a golden sand beach and one of the largest in the complex of Cyclades islands. It is a well-organized beach that attracts many visitors and it is annually awarded by the European Union’s Blue Flag.
Kamares is by far the best beach of the island and has been awarded for many consecutive years with EU's Blue Flag for the water quality, the organization and safety. It's a long, sandy beach and has shallow waters that are warm throughout the day.
The small rocky coast of Epta Martyres (“seven martyrs” in Greek) is situated just below Kastro, a bit northern to the village, in front of the homonymous country church, at a distance of 4 kilometers eastern to Apollonia. Access from Kastro is possible on foot, stepping down the stairs leading down to the sea; you will follow the signs indicating “Epta Martyres”.
Vroulidia is a small, pebbly beach 14km away from Apollonia. Although it is one of the lesser known beaches of Sifnos, its unspoilt beauty along with its emerald waters will make you love it.
The small picturesque sandy beach located in Glyfo Bay Lighthouse , opposite Faro Beach on the southeastern coast of the island. It is located 7 kilometers south of Apollonia, has a length of 150 meters is a fairly quiet beach, ideal for a relaxing bath.

Kipoi is a sandy beach and is located near Provatas and the Psathades and enjoys convenient road access. There is a restaurant and a small pier for diving, the only southern coast, from whence Kleftiko trips by boat twice a day and only make two stops: The Elder and Kleftiko, stopping hatred and one hour respectively.
Provatas is a seaside village with a beautiful beach with rare golden sand, rocks and shallow waters - ideal for small children, since the waters are extremely shallow. Because it is south of the island, the beach is usually calm.
The beach of Firiplaka is a fairly large beach, cut in half by a large rock (plate) which has been detached from the mountain. The first part of the beach is the one where you will find the beach bar and sunbeds, probably the second song on your own or with a camper company that has reached the other side of the beach.

Agia Kyriaki is very beautiful but with deep seabed. Located 8 km from Adamas Paleohori the village and the road to get there is very good.
Shortly before arriving in Sarakiniko make a stop in the seaside village Mandrakia, in order to enjoy a short swin in the small beach a few meters before. The beach is not organized but it is worth to swim in its crystal clear waters.
Paliochori is one of the beaches you should definitely visit for a swim. You will get there by following the paved road after Zephyria with you own car or with any of the local busses.
Theiorihia is a spectacular beach, above of which dominates the old abandoned factory. This, in combination with the wonderful colors of the rocks gives it a special and unique character.
The bay of Pollonia lies on the north side of Milos and protects the beach from the wind, which is sandy and has a big area with sund beds and umbrellas. It is a typical beach for families with young children.
