Agios Nikolaos is a nice, relaxing beach on the eastern side of Kimolos. The clean water and calm ambiance attract some loneliness and couples. For those who love reading, it is an ideal place to enjoy a good book, without someone bother theme.
Navigational Aids
Psáthi is the little harbor of Kimolos. It affords good protection from the meltemi (the Etesians) but is open to the S - SE.
Kalamitsi is a traditional restaurant by the sea offering fresh fish. One of their specialties is Kolokithenia, a traditional pie made of zucchini (kolokithi).
Beautiful beach with white sand from the quarry which is directly above it. But not very popular beach.
Alyki, as the nearby beaches and Kalamitsi Bonatsa is long and relatively calm when the wind 'excite' the Cyclades. Ideal for swimming when winds.
Psathi is the port of Kimolos but also the most popular beach on Kimolos. It is a busy, lovely place with local colour.
Mponatsa is a large beach with golden sand and crystal water. It is one of the most famous beaches of the island and becomes quite popular in summer months.
Right by the old quarries that used to extract limestone lies a long shore of large pebbles and golden sand easily accessible from the main road. Slightly shaded by marram grass and hidden in a natural rock formation jutting into the azure sea, Klima Beach is the perfect spot for enjoying the sun and the summer breeze.
Pigados is a narrow rocky beach on the north eastern side of Kimolos. Its crystal beaches and calm environment attract a lot of visitors.
Scenic and quiet beach with thick light sand and little thin pebble. The first beach you encounter is Monastiria which have no shade at all, but with a bit more walking you can reach Soufi with many trees and a calm sea.
