Paraporti Beach
Exploring Andros Sailing Holidays area
Paraporti is the south coast of the two beaches, on the sides of the peninsula of Hora. It has a nice and big sandy beach and beautiful surroundings, with a charming river with ducks, the Venetian Castle on the left and the Tourlitis lighthouse a little further away. There are no amenities in the beach, but ascending the stairs we come to the Kairis square of Hora, where there are restaurants, cafes and shops.
Navigational Aids
In a distance of ten minute walk from Apoikia is the Pithara waterfall. There is a smooth path that leads to the beautiful waterfall.
Nostalgia offers endless choices for coffee from traditional Greek coffee to American coffee. It has also many snacks for those who want to eat something with their coffee.
Gialia and Piso Gialia are the most beautiful beaches close to Chora, Andros island capital. Gialia is the longest beach with pebbles; Piso Gialia is smaller and it is a sandy beach.
Close to the town of Andros, to the north, is located an organized sandy beach, ideal for families, with taverns, cafes and shops. The bay here used to be the old port of the island and it still serves as a harbour for fishermen boats and yachts.
