A solitary cove with a lovely beach and crystal clear waters. It is located on the southwest side of the island and can be accessed from Stavropeda. The distance is around 2 km, half of which is dirt road. The beach is unorganized, only in Stavropeda can someone find a cafe-bar.
Navigational Aids
Batsi is just 2 3/4 nM south-east of Gavrio and provides good shelter, although it can be gusty, from the meltemi (the Etesians) (the Etesians) but it is exposed to the south. You can either anchor off-shore or go stern-to at the small quay.
In a distance of ten minute walk from Apoikia is the Pithara waterfall. There is a smooth path that leads to the beautiful waterfall.
Nostalgia offers endless choices for coffee from traditional Greek coffee to American coffee. It has also many snacks for those who want to eat something with their coffee.
Gialia and Piso Gialia are the most beautiful beaches close to Chora, Andros island capital. Gialia is the longest beach with pebbles; Piso Gialia is smaller and it is a sandy beach.

Close to the town of Andros, to the north, is located an organized sandy beach, ideal for families, with taverns, cafes and shops. The bay here used to be the old port of the island and it still serves as a harbour for fishermen boats and yachts.
Beach Chrysi Ammos is one of the most beautiful beaches of Andros. It is located on the way from Gavrio, the port of the island, and Batsi, right between Kypri and Agios Petros.
Agios Petros beach is located on the road to Stavropeda from Gavrio. The beach is very beautiful, with golden sand and warm shallow waters, that makes it ideal for families with young children.
Very nice beach with sand and pebbles, the gulf between Zagora and Paleopolis, near the corner of Chora. Here are the ancient mines, which operated until the beginning of the century, and a small white church on a rock.
Plaka beach is located at the western coast near Korthi area. You can reach it from the road from Stavropeda to Korthi.
Paraporti is the south coast of the two beaches, on the sides of the peninsula of Hora. It has a nice and big sandy beach and beautiful surroundings, with a charming river with ducks, the Venetian Castle on the left and the Tourlitis lighthouse a little further away.
