Beach Maltezi is situated northwest to Katapola port. It is a sandy beach and by all standards the most picturesque on Amorgos Island. Maltezi beach remains unaffected by the Meltemi winds. The sea here is bluish green and the sand is fine. Due to these qualities it has remained one of the favourite beach destinations among tourists. Maltezi beach lies between Katapola port and Maltezi and it can be accessed by boat. Alternately, one can go on foot and walk a trail for about 30 minutes to Maltezi passing through the settlement of Xilokeratidi. One can at least expect shade in Maltezi beach and a beach umbrella would be a nice proposition if sunbathing is a priority.
The uninhabited Island of Nikouria (4,5 km long) is located straight in front of the „carribean finger“ of Agios Pavlos beach. It is easy to access by a permanent boat shuttle service, starting at 11:00am and closing at around 7:00pm, straight in front of the tavern of Agios Pavlos beach.
Beach Mouros is located at about 15 km south from Amorgos Chora and can be reached through Arkesini village, by an asphalt road for 2 km up to the parking space and then 10’ walk through a path, that leads to the beach. The coast is beautiful with pebbles and unique turquoise waters, spread along with imposing rocks, while it is totally not organized, apart from a small tavern just above the beach.
