Agios Pavlos Beach at Agios Paulos
Exploring Amorgos Sailing Holidays area
Agios Pavlos is one of the most beautiful spots on Amorgos Island. The shingle spit is a natural design phenomenon. It is shaped by wind and sea – sometimes spiky, some other time it changes into a small curved bay. However, you will enjoy the mild lagoon-like shore, wind and rough-sea protected by the opposite island of Nikouria. For afficionados a hangout refuge and a well liked spot for fishing, diving, snorkeling and anchoring too.

This is a rather pleasant anchorage, just 3 nM West of Aegiali, protected from the meltemi by Nikouria Island. There are strong gusts.
The Hozoviotissa Monastery is an 11th century building, known as Virgin Mary. It is believed that its icon arrived on a boat from Palestine.
Kallistro is located in the Chora of Amorgos. It serves a wide range of coffees accompanied with delicious sweets, including homemade ice cream and local sweets.
Aegiali is one of the most picturesque beaches on Amorgos and the road that leads to it offers breathtaking views tinted with intense color contrasts. The coast is covered by thin, almost white, sand that blends magically with the deep blue waters and the green color of the surrounding vegetation.
Levressos is a beautiful beach located 1km from the cove of Aegiali, on the northern side of Amorgos. This is a sandy beach with crystalline water and mostly known as the favorite spot of nudists.
Psili Ammos is located at about 2km from Aegiali, right after Levrossos beach. It boasts a beautiful sandy coast with transparent and clean waters protected from the winds by the steep surrounding cliffs that are also verdant.
Mikri Vlychada beach is found northwest from Tholaria village, on the northern part of Amorgos, and can be accessed in about 30’ walking by the rocky path mostly used by local fishermen. The beach is in fact a small bay with sand and pebbles, totally unorganized, at the mouth of a gorge.
Agia Anna Beach is the nearest beach to both Katapola and Hora, and is where The Big Blue was filmed. The beach is actually a series of small pebbly coves strung out along the rocky shoreline, which can get really busy in summer.
