The quietpebble beach of Agios Panteleimon is located 12 km South from Agios Nikolaos (next to the beach Karavostasi) ahead of the holiday village and Istro on the main road leading from Agios Nikolaos to Sitia and Ierapetra. Beach is sheltered from the wind.

The long sandy beach Almyros is the best beach in town, located about 1 kilometer south of the center of Agios Nicholaos in a well protected from the wind inlet. It is very well organized beach providing swimmers all the comforts with deck chairs and umbrellas, almost in the city and ideal for families with young children because it has shallow waters.
Small pebbled beach in front of the camping 'Gournia' is located 19 km southeast from Agios Nikolaos on the main road leading from Agios Nikolaos to Sitia and Ierapetra, after Istro before the Pachia Ammos. Beach is well protected from the winds in a small cove.
It is a sandy beach located 20 kilometers southeast of the Saint Nicholas in front of the homonymous village. Beach is well protected from the wind because of the small pier harbor which offers a safe and relaxing swimming.
Pachia Ammou pebbled beach is located 20 km southeast from Agios Nikolaos, on the main road leading from Agios Nikolaos to Sitia and Ierapetra, right next to the homonymous beautiful coastal village. Beach is not protected from the winds and is for the lovers of big waves.
The pebbled beach Tholos (or Kavoussi) is located 26 km east of Agios Nikolaos, 3.5 km north of the main road leading from Agios Nikolaos to Sitia (village Kavoussi) after Thick Ammos.
Mochlos is a small pebbled beach west of the picturesque little fishing village of the same name and is located 48 km east of Agios Nikolaos and 34 west of Sitia. Influenced by the winds that blow in the region.

Beach Diaskari is quite popular and attracts many young people who generally want to avoid the organized beaches. The beach is sandy and pebble in parts with large stone slippery slabs.
On the east, after the long beach there are two small beaches in front of the big hotels Sunwing and Small Town. These beaches are named Lagoufa.
The largest beach in Makrigialos is the beach, which was formerly known as Hani. Most simply say Makty Gialos (Long beach) because it has a length of almost a kilometer.
West of the harbor is the Kalamokania beach, where the water is slightly deeper. The beach is also sandy with small pebbles on the edge and served by the nearby cafes.
In front of the Roman villa is the beach Katovigli, pebbles and is affected by the winds. The beach has sunbeds and bars, although the harbor with its cafes are close by and can accommodate anyone .
The beach Koutsouras with dark gray pebbles lying stretched out on its back with crystal and blue-green waters. Located 55 km southeast from Agios Nikolaos and 20 kilometers east of Ierapetra, in front of the seaside village and is well protected from the winds.
The beach Mavros Kolympos with black pebbles and gravels is located 16 kilometers east of Ierapetra. It is a beach well protected from winds.
Ahlia sandy beach located 15 kilometers east of Ierapetra, in front of the homonymous small settlement, well protected from the winds that blow in the region. The visitor can enjoy the sea and the sun, enjoying all the amenities of the relatively well-organized beach (sunbeds, umbrellas, sea sports etc) without the crowds.
Beautiful bay with fine sand and crystal waters 10 kilometers east of Ierapetra. The tiny sandy bay of Agia Fotia (Holy Fire) holds perhaps the most beautiful beach bar of the county with latin, cuban, and acid jazz sounds, which makes it very popular among young people.
Sandy beach 9 kilometers east of Ierapetra. The beach is sheltered from the wind though it is not organized.
Large sandy beach, 7 kilometers east of Ierapetra. It starts from the camping Koutsounari east of the homonymous tourist resort and extends several kilometers to the east almost to the Holy Fire.
Once the outskirts of Ierapetra, about 4-5 km along the road to Koutsounari will see a sign that says NISSAN right side of the road. Take the dirt road and soon you will find yourself in a stunning secluded sandy beach.
The islet of Chryssi (official name) or Gaidouronisi is located 8 miles south of Ierapetra on the Libyan Sea and is uninhabited, but has very nice beaches and great history. One of the best beaches in Greece, with beautiful golden sand, full of small shells and gorgeous turquoise waters.
