The secluded beach of Agia Marina is located 84 kilometers far from Chania, very close, almost in succession to the beach Lakki. It is open to the South and affected by the strong south winds.
An hour away from Chania and just 1 km east of Frangokastello to stumble upon one of the best beaches with clear water and dunes, but influenced by southern winds. It took its name from the tall sand dunes that surround it.
Located 80 km south of Chania South coast of Crete and 13 km east of Sfakia. In front of the legendary castle stretches a vast sandy beach with shallow waters ideal for families with children.
If you walk at the harbor or take the road towards the village Patsianos will take you over a fairly large beach with fine pebbles, sand and rocky bottom. There is beach and will be with you the essentials.

The beach Gerani located 6 km west of Rethymno and is a bay with pebbles affected by the wind. This is a less organized and relatively quiet beach near the town of Rethymno.
It lies 15 km from Rethymno to Chania and situated north of Crete. It is an organized beach with clear waters and fine sand.
Episkopis beach is located 12 km west of Rethymno and is a great sandy beach, several kilometers long that is affected by the wind. There are parts of the beach that are organized and have cafes, there are large chunks of the beach that are not organized where you can put your towel.
Located 16 km west of Rethymno on the National Road Rethymno-Chania. This is a beautiful sandy beach on the North coast of Crete and therefore affected by the winds and northerly winds.
Preveli Beach or Foinikas is also called as the southern coast of Crete, 38 km south of the town of Rethymno, below the monastery of Preveli. Located about 20 minutes after the historic Monastery of Preveli.
Through the village Lefkogia starts a bad asphalt road (3 km) to the sheltered sandy beach with turquoise Shinaria waters. The beach is fairly sheltered from strong winds.
Sandy beach about 6-7 km east of Plakias resort, about 3 km from Lefkogia and 10 minutes walk from the beach Damnoni. Several beach sheltered from strong winds.

Just before the beach Korakas will find a series of 3 secluded beaches with sand and pebbles. It is not organized and you need all your essentials.
Approximately 47 km from Rethymnon at the South West and 2 miles south of Peach village, is the beach of Korakas, a sandy beach open to the south and exposed to the winds. It is a well organized beach with sunbeds, umbrellas, bars, etc.
At about 47 km southwest of Rethymno and after the beach Korakas will find three pebbled beaches affected by the wind. The two beaches at the end of the dirt is pretty organized.
Almyrida beach is ideal for families with little children due to the beach provides everything they need. There are tavernas and little cafe bars along the sea.
In Chora Sfakion there is a beautiful cave named Daskalogianni cave.It can only be reached by boat, because it is located between rocks on the shore.
The cave of Gerani is one of the most beautiful ones in the prefecture of Rethymno and in the whole of Crete. It is located 7 km west of Rethymnon, at the location Kamari and nearby Gerani beach.
50 km south of Chania is the mountain village of Askyfou, Sfakia. There is an interesting war museum there, created by a local man, who was travelling all over Crete to collect every vestige of the battle, so as to keep alive the glorious memory of Cretan war history.
The Archeological museum of Rethymno was founded in 1887. Since 1991 the museum is located in the center of the old town of Rethymno opposite the main entrance of Fortezza.
At the beginning of the old town of Rethymno an imposing Venetian fortress, known as Fortezza, is standing. Fortezza is the most important monument in Rethymno and it was built in the late 16th century.
Avli is one of the most famous restaurants inRethymno. All traditional dishes are made by organic ingredients and the restaurant has received many awards.
Arkadiou Street, or Sabbionara, was during Venetian era but also today one of the most important streets of the urban fabric of the city. Lying in the heart of modern Rethymnon, it combines the oriental features of the Turkish period with Renaissance-style Venetian architecture.
