Located 80 km south of Chania Loutro beach is a very small pebbled beach, inside the homonymous bay, which is only accessible by boat. It is a natural shelter from the winds. Loutro has calm waters and is well organized. In the village there are many cafes, shops and restaurants. In June and August is very crowded. Loutro offers visitors the opportunity to explore the underwater world, as it's ideal for snorkeling. Also this beach is ideal for sea kayaking. Visitors can improve their skills at kayak with sessions by expert coaches and then may have a four days trip if they wish.
Walking the beach Vertigo towards Loutro and the footpath E4 will pass the Chapel of the Holy Cross and of course will start next to several small bays which dominate the pebble, sand and rock. There is no organization, and should arrange for all necessary.
