This is a beach with golden sands and turquoise waters. The rocky shores around are a natural work of art. There is opportunity for water sports. To the west of the village there are some small pebble coves where you can relax and enjoy a book. These small beaches can be reached by boat. Many restaurants and other shops with sea views are available in the village of Panormos. Also this beach is ideal for sea kayaking. Visitors should be familiar with kayak to have this trip. The view of the town is amazing from the sea.

Agiofarango is situated within an imposing gorge that runs down to the sea and is a popular sport climbing venue in Crete. The climbing is situated on both sides of the gorge, which means that climbers can have sun or shadow no matter the season or time of the day.
Thalori Kapetania is a complex of fifteen traditional restored houses. Kapetanania is a small village with amazing view of the Lybian sea.

The Missiria is actually a suburb of Rethymno, within walking distance from the city center, just 3 km to the east and on the long sandy beach. Access from Rethymnon is very easy with regular and frequent bus, taxi and rented or private cars and motorcycles.
