A small harbor suitable only for small vessels is formed 200 m SW of cape Várdia. Its entrance is about 40 m wide, open NW. The small harbor is protected by a mole that extends W for 71 m and by a breakwater that extends NE for 110 m.
The inner (S) side of the mole is quayed. Depths inside it are less than 1 m, subject to continuous silting. Entry and mooring to the small harbor is allowed only after clearance from the Ionian Sea Naval Command.

Navigational Aids
The harbor is facing SE and is protected by a windward curved mole, which has a width of 80 m for the first 320 m to the NE and then a width of about 50 m for 350 m to the SE. At its head a temporary green light operates.
Episkopi is the only other settlement in Kalamos besides its port, located at the Northern coast. It is very small with a tiny port, suitable only for small boats.
Port Kalamos is down hill from the village of Kalamos. It is the only harbor in the island and fills up rapidly during high season, when the charter business is in full swing.
The harbor is protected by a windward curved mole with a total length of 330 m and a leeward pole 80 m length. At its heads lights of green and red color operate, for inbound vessels.
Harbor Zakýnthou is artificial, with trapezium-like shape and dimensions of 850×500 m. Its entrance is open to the SSA, has a width of 190 m, and depths along the entrance axis of about 7 m.
The small harbor is protected by curved mole with a total length of about 140 m, from the head of which a light is exhibited. The outer side of the jetty is protected by rock ballasting, while the inner side is quayed and has depths of about 2 m near it.
Patras Port comprises a fishing harbor and three basins: one in the S, one in the center and one in the N. It has four main jetties.
Harbor Astakou is open SE. It is sheltered from swells caused by S winds by a mole extending SE for 166 m, 8.
Port Kastos below the town of Kastos is the only harbor on the island and fills up rapidly during high season, when the charter business is in full swing. The harbor of Kastos offers good shelter in all except E and SE winds, which send in an uncomfortable swell.
Harbor Mesolonggiou is formed by a diamond-shaped dredged basin with a width of 800 m and a length of 1000 m. The coasts of the harbor are quayed for about 562 m and have depths of 2.
Small harbor Nafpaktos, open S, is of circular shape and of 100 m in width. It has an entrance 25 m wide and depths of about 3 m along the axis, decreasing gradually inside it, over a bottom of mud.
About 500 m E of the cape Mytikas, there is a small harbor (fishing shelter), open SW, with an entrance opening of about 25 m and depths at the entrance axis of about 3.6 m.
Zakynthos Marina is situated immediately south of the Zakynthos main harbour. Its entrance faces SE, has a width of about 40 m and depths of 4.
This church of Saint Dionysius is the biggest in the city and it is dedicated to the protector of the island. It was built in 1948 and it resisted the earthquake in 1953.
The Kastromonastiro (Castle-Monastery) of Kalamos is near Episkopi. Only sections of its tall, stone walls remain, with their beautiful inner arches becoming embrasures for weapons on the outside.

Agios Aimilianos Beach is a small, quiet beach in the island of Kastos. It's known for Fokotrypa, a small cave with a depth of 30 meters and sand within it.

Banana Beach is the longest beach on the island and is known to locals and foreigners. It has crystal clear waters and is well organized with sun beds and umbrellas at the beach.
Agios Nikolas is a popular beach in Vassilikos area. There is a beachfront restaurant and bar, and beach volley facilities.
Kastos is located close to larger and long-established boating and holiday home destinations such as Ithaca, Kefalonia, Lefkada and Meganissi; it is separated from its neighbouring island of Kalamos by a deep channel. Just eight kilometres long and, even at its widest, only 1,200 metres across, Kastos has a huge appeal to all forms of boating and yachting enthusiasts.
The Psathopyrgos is about 18 km from Patras with easy road access, picturesque village with a beautiful bay. Crystal clear water and sand and pebbles.
The famous Kalogria Beach is located approximately 45 km west of Patras. This is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches in Greece.
