The fishing shelter Ágios Nikólaos fronts the namesake settlement. It comprises of two small harbors. The N one is open NW, has an entrance opening of 10 m and depths of less than 2 m. It is protected by a curved mole extending NNW for about 120 m, with its outer side protected by rock ballasting, and by a leeward mole extending SW for 25 m.
About 32 m SE of the head of the leeward mole lies a sunken block. Its inner side is quayed and has depths of about 2 m near it, with the exception of its N part, which has depths of less than 1 m. The S small harbor, open SE, has an entrance opening of 10 m and depths of 1.4 m at the entrance.
It is protected by a windward mole extending S for about 100 m, with its outer side protected by rock ballasting, and by a leeward mole extending W for 35 m. Its inner coasts are quayed, with depths of less than 1 m near them. At the south shores of the north small port there is a 2,5 ton travel-lift. The use of the fishing shelter is only for the local crafts.

Small fishing village of the mid 20th century, grew dramatically, starting with the 1960 when the company Aluminium of Greece was moved here, with the alumina plant and aluminum near Antikyra. It lies 16 kilometers from Desfina and 200 kilometers from Athens.
The Beach Distomo coast has white and gray pebbles that are organized with sunshade, cabins and showers throughout its extent, of about 4 km starting at the left of the beach and the port of Agios Nikolaos and extends to the border with Antikyra in the main tourist beach. If someone wants nightlife by the beach, especially on summer evenings, you can visit the nearby Antikyra.
