The town of Marsala is fronted by a large spacious artificial harbour on the W coast of Sicily, 1 mile SE of Capo Lilibeo. Anchorage can be obtained with the head of Diga Foranea in line bearing about 021° with the head of Molo di Ponente, in a depth of 11 m, clay and weed. Small vessels can obtain shelter from NW winds under the lee of Diga Foranea.
