Isola Panaria is the largest island in a group of eight small islands and rocks. The island group is all that remains of a very ancient and large volcano partly demolished by the sea. Isola Panaria lies on the W part of the seamount bank which has depths of less than 200 m over it. On the E part of the bank there are several islets and shoals.
