A boat channel leads NE of Isola Chiesa (41°12′8N, 9°25′0E). The approach from Rada di Santo Stefano is marked with buoys; a shoal with a depth of 1.2 m over it lies close N of the E side of the entrance. The channel has a least depth of about 2 m and is spanned by a fixed bridge connecting Isola Chiesa and the naval barracks on Isola La Maddalena.
