Peschici, a small town, stands on a promontory. The harbour, formed by two angled moles which extend NW from the foot of precipitous cliffs below the town, is shallow and subject to silting. Anchorage of indifferent quality may be obtained in the bay W of the harbour but local knowledge is required. Anchorage sheltered from SE gales can be obtained about 1. 5 miles or more offshore between Peschici (41°57′N 16°01′E) and Rodi Garganico, 6 miles W, in about 18 m, noting that depths of 10 m or less extend as much as 1. 25 miles offshore along this stretch of coast.
