The small basin of Venezia San Giorgio is situated at the N end of the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, half a mile SSE of St Mark’s square and the Palazzo Ducale in Venice. Undoubtedly the yacht basin with the best views in the city, it has 70 berths for yachts up to 15 metres. The berths are all under the management of a private club, the Compagnia della Vela Venezia, and berthing is only permitted when members are away from their berths. There are no facilities in the basin. No berthing assistance usually available. Yachts berth either bows-to the breakwater (in which case land access is via the footbridge at the E end of the basin) or the quay opposite, both with lines to mooring posts. Depths at the berths range from 2. 2 - 2. 4 metres.
