Sailing Holidays in Sistiana
Sistiana harbour lies in Baia di Sistiana, a small bay with steep sides much of which are tree covered. The bay is readily identified by limestone quarries on the hillside close SE of the bay and by white precipitous cliffs extending NW from the W side of the bay. The small town of Sistiana stands a short distance inland from the shores of the bay.
The bay is protected by a rubble breakwater extending ESE from the W side, and a similar and longer breakwater extending WNW from the E side, leaving an entrance, between the breakwater heads, about 90 meters wide. The E half of the bay is lined by a quay with several projecting piers. Anchorage is not recommended in the bay which has a sandy bottom.
