Camogli is an ancient shipbuilding town which stands at the foot of Monte Esoli. A marine farm lies 1 mile SSW of the harbour. In good weather and with local knowledge anchorage can be obtained in a depth of 17 m, sand, 300 m SW of the harbour mole head. Small vessels can obtain anchorage in a depth of about 10 m on the alignment of the mole. With bad weather from the SW local small craft usually anchor off Punta della Chiappa.
