Bonassola stands between two streams at the head of a small bay entered between Punta di Monte Grosso and Punta Levanto, 0. 6 mile ESE. With local knowledge anchorage can be obtained in depths of about 10 m, good holding ground, in the N part of the bay on the alignment (013°) of San Giorgio church and the railway bridge crossing the stream W of Bonassola. In good weather anchorage can be obtained in depths of 8 m closer to the shore. In moderate SE winds smaller vessels can obtain some shelter from the SE shore of the bay in depths of 10 m.
