Porto di Ponza is the main harbour of the island with facilities for small commercial vessels, ferries and small craft. The port lies on the S shore of Cala di Ponza. Small vessels may obtain temporary anchorage in depths of 4 to 7 m, mud, close SE of Punta Torrione (40°53′9N, 12°57′7E). Generally holding ground is better in the S part of the anchorage area.
