Sailing Holidays in Dion Theater

The ancient theater rests to the south of Dion, out of the city, near the sanctuary dedicated to Demetra. It was built during the Hellenistic era. The theater is facing north-east, which is the best orientation for maximum ventilation. The orchestra, with a 26m diameter and earth flooring, is being delimited by an open stone conduit. Excavations show that that the theatre was probably abandoned after 168 BC.
