The sandy beach of Foinikas is extended along the homonymous summer resort, within a small cove well protected from the “meltemia” (northern summer winds. It is situated some 11 kilometers southwestern to Hermoupolis. The most characteristic feature of the beach are the numerous fish taverns found just at the beach, with the wave almost to leak them. The beach is rather well organized and during the hot hours of the day the swimmers will certainly enjoy the rich shade of the tamarisk trees on the sand.
