Luka Opatija (45°20′N 14°19′E) is situated in front of the resort of Opatija where there are many large hotels. The harbour, open NE, consists of a basin, with depths up to 3·9 m, formed by a pier, both sides of which are quayed, extending NE from the shore. Anchorage, not recommended in E or SE winds, may be obtained about 450 meters E of pierhead in 47 m good holding, or closer inshore as appropriate to size.
