Luka Krk (45°01′N 14°35′E) is situated in a creek in the NW part of Krčki Zaljev. It is protected by a breakwater which projects about 185 meters ENE from the S entrance point and a jetty which extends about 45 m SSE from the N shore of the creek abreast the head of the breakwater. A number of quays, another jetty, and several piers, are situated within the harbour. The small and ancient town of Krk stands elevated, close N of the harbour. The cathedral, with prominent belfry (onion-shaped surmounted by a statue), stands near the root of the E jetty.
