Uvala Stipanja (45°09′N 14°40′E) open N is entered close W of Rt Šilo. The village of Šilo lies at the head of the bay where there is a small harbour formed by an angled mole projecting 75 m E. The bay affords the only harbour of refuge for deep draught vessels in Vinodolski Kanal. Vessels may anchor, as shown on the chart in 28 to 30 m mud, good holding, near the E side of the bay with hawsers to the shore NE. It is necessary to avoid a submarine cable, laid NW from the bay to Crikvenica. Small vessels may anchor at the head of the bay W of the harbour, in depths of less than about 10 m.
