Sailing Holidays in Kršan
Today's Kršan, a settlement and the centre of the municipality bearing the same name, developed close to the old medieval fortified castle in the eastern part of Istria, 15 km north of Labin. The old Krsan, although located some three hundred meters from the main road is relatively accessible and in the vicinity of the "new" Krsan.
This charming place dominated by a defence tower and a church bell attracts the visitors by the remnants of its medieval castle first mentioned in 1274. The frame of the fifteenth century Gothic portal and the well shaft have been preserved in the castle's inside courtyard. A high rectangular bastion tower is also well conserved and the defence walls were remodelled into residential buildings that are almost empty. Nowadays, the old village of Krsan has only a couple of permanent inhabitants.
