The marina is fairly new, starting its operation in 2002. The marina is operated by the local municipality and an attendant is occasionally on hand (2005) to help visitors moor. There are public sanitation facilities one block back from the waterfront.
The marina is well protected and there are laid moorings at most (but not all) berths. Space is, however, very tight and it will not always be possible to find room in here during peak season. Water and electricity are available on the quay.

Located at 5 kilometres away from the capital, Agios Prokopios is one of the most popular beaches of Naxos and considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. The long golden sandy beach extends over 1, 5 kilometres and has beautiful crystalline waters, protected from the strong winds frequently blowing on the island.
The incredibly beautiful beach resort of Mikri Vigla is located 18 kilometres away from the capital and consists in two wonderful sandy beaches separated by an impressive hill. The northern beach of Mikri Vigla is wonderful, with soft golden sand and crystalline turquoise waters and is blessed by the meltemi (north winds specific to the Cyclades) which make it an ideal place for wind/kitesurfing.
