Heraklion Marina is small marina for leisure boats & small yachts situated in the old Venetian harbour and operated by the Ηeraklion Port Authority. It is located at the west end of the commercial harbor and offers good shelter. The nearest airport to the marina is Heraklion International Airport, "Nikos Kazantzakis" (IATA: HER).
Berths for private leisure crafts and yachts of up to 20 meters are located on the opposite side of the antique harbor in three floating docks, along the southern pier and along the western side of the harbor's fortified (Minor Koulé) entrance quay. Larger private yachts berth on the eastern side of the harbor's fortified quay.
Heraklion marina also houses the Heraklion Sailing and Yacht Clubs, where races are regularly held. Most sections of the marina are equipped to supply yachts with drinking water and electrical power. There are also slipways, parking areas, storage space and a yacht repair facility that operates at quay V. One of the major benefits of the marina is its location, virtually in the heart of Heraklion, just a few minutes' walk from the city centre and the market.

Sarantauga, which means 40 eggs in Greek, is located in the central market of Heraklion and is an old traditional cafe dated back to 1924. A story says that the grandfather of the current owner, who was the founder, used to like many eggs, so he gave that name to his cafe.
